Science Fiction novels by Lisanne Norman
The Sholan Alliance series currently consists of five books, with a
sixth in the making and due by mid-2000. The series is a continous
story and not a collection of episodes, so reading the books in
the correct sequence is necessary to understand and enjoy it.

Reviews:
"Turning Point was a nifty little ditty that I was able to
pickup, read through and put down in just over a day. How
did I feel when finished? Unfulfilled.
Hey, don't get me wrong... I liked it a lot. Good plot,
character development, etc...
Why unfulfilled? Because it really didn't end. The primary
issue was resolved, but so many other issues were left up
in the air..
On the other hand, I'm now halfway through the second book
in the series, and I take it all back. Good as a book
alone. Great as the beginning of a wonderful series of novels.

Summary:
Carrie and Kusac, bond together by love and their mental link,
combine their talents as their planets are threatened by a
mutual enemy. Yet another danger arises from another source
when opposing factions on their own worlds decide
to exploit their shared power.
Reviews:
"Fortune's Wheel is one the best sf novels of the
year. Norman's world-building is incredible. She reminds me
of Cherryh and Brin, in that she creates such a vivid
alien society. The sholan series combines action, intrique
and a realistic romance. I really enjoyed the various
interactions among the guilds that are mentioned. My
only problem is that she takes two years to write another
book. When you have such memorable characters like Kusac,
Carrie, and Vanna you want to return to their world and all
it's secrets.

Summary:
As members of the human and Sholan race begin
to bond and for a new race that stands outside
of the Guilds, the delicate political balance
that protects them threatens to collaps, but
Carrie and Kusac strike out on their own.
Reviews:
"Not since Pern have I come upon such an interesting world
to visit. I think the author has done an increasingly
interesting and sophisticated job of "filling" out Shola. I
hope she has plans to continue the series as there are many
interesting story lines developed in Fire Margins. I
personally hated to come to the end of this good-sized read as Ms
Norman's characters are realistic, likeable, and easy to
become involved with. I would recommend this book to any
reader who likes to visit alien worlds.

Summary:
While the Sholan race is facing the incresing numbers
of independent human-Sholan telepathic pairs, Kusac,
Carrie, Kaid and T'Chebbi are sent to Jalna on a rescue
mission - into the middle of a revolution.
Reviews:
"'Fire Margins' and now 'Razor's Edge' were even better than
the first two books. With each new book, Ms. Norman continues to
develop believable characters who show personal growth in complex
situations. Add to that the detailed descriptions of the
Sholan world in which they live combined with an epic story line and
you have a great adventure series. Enjoy!

"Lisanne Norman creats a world where you can believe you a
actually there. With each book you read you can't wait to
see what comes next.A wonderful blend of science and
mysticism. I can't wait to see what happens next.

"After picking up the first book, I found myself
hooked. I couldn't wait to go out and get the next book. I
finally finished the series, and find that, yet again, we've been
left hanging. And I find myself, once again, wanting more.
